I'm such a slacker! Three months ago I vowed to be a more consistent blogger, and yeah ... you see how committed I am. I am done making promises to update more often, I guess I will simply say that I will try my hardest to keep you all up to date on all the exciting things happening in my life.
I'm definitely excited for this coming semester. I have been bored out of my mind for the last three and a half weeks of break as I have tried desperately (and without success) to keep myself occupied. I have been at school off and on over break working at my off-campus job, making a couple bucks to try to support my coffee addiction. Mmm .... coffee. I've been at home off and on too, catching up on episodes of The Office (my NEW addiction, I never knew what I was missing) and cooking everything imaginable. My current obsession is making pizza with a focaccia bread crust - it's life-changing. If you want a white bread recipe that will knock your socks off, try this one. It is definitely the best bread recipe I've ever discovered. I received the Williams-Sonoma Baking Book as a Christmas gift and I have read through the entire thing at least twice already. The pictures are enough to make me want to camp out in the kitchen for the next three months and make cinnamon rolls and scones 'till my heart's content.
I'm finally getting to have a couple nutrition classes this semester. I am SO excited to get closer to becoming a dietician. I know I still have a long way to go, but I am so ready to get started learning more about nutrition. I think I've pretty much decided what direction I want to take once I become an RD ... nutrition counseling. It's definitely where I can see myself like ten years from now. I love the idea of helping people change and better their lives by making simple changes in their diet. It's amazing what minor changes can do. This semester is definitely going to be a busy one. Classes, on-campus work, off-campus work, church, social time, working out ... I'm praying God will give me the needed grace for what's ahead; I must remember that He will be glorified in my weaknesses over these next few months. He is good!
I am sooooooooo excited that we finally made contact! I miss you a lot and would love to somehow keep in touch. My blog was started mostly for Grace to read about my new interests. Haha. but I would love to have you take a peek too. It makes me so happy to read what you write, it really sounds like the good ol' Allison. Hope to see you around the bend sometime!
